Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what we need to make recommendations and measure whether they work. We do not fingerprint you or sell your data.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Questionnaire answers. Your business type, size, goals, budget, and current tools, so we can generate a recommendation.
  • Email address, only if you ask us to email your results or you contact us.
  • Account details, if you choose to create an account. An account is never required to use PKGPilot.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage events — pages viewed, questionnaire progress, and outbound clicks — tied to a short-lived first-party session identifier.
  • Referral information, such as the page that sent you here and any campaign parameters in the URL.

What we do not collect

  • We do not fingerprint your device or browser.
  • We do not build cross-site advertising profiles.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not store your IP address or user agent alongside your analytics events.

Why we collect it

  • To generate and improve your recommendations.
  • To measure which recommendations are useful, in aggregate.
  • To attribute referrals to the vendors who pay us, which is how the site stays free.
  • To respond when you contact us.

Affiliate links and tracking

Outbound links to vendors route through our own domain so we can record the click. Once you reach the vendor's site, their privacy policy applies, and the vendor may set their own cookies to attribute the referral. We have no control over what a vendor collects. Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies: one to keep your session together while you work through the questionnaire, and one to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Retention

  • Questionnaire sessions and generated PKGs: retained so you can return to your results, and deleted on request.
  • Analytics events: retained in aggregate; individual event rows are pruned on a rolling basis.
  • Email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your choices

  • Use PKGPilot without an account or an email address.
  • Ask us for a copy of the data associated with you.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Unsubscribe from any email we send, from any email we send.

To exercise any of these, contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we apply the choices above regardless of where you are.

Children

PKGPilot is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects data we already hold, tell the people it affects.
