Editorial Policy

Our standard

PKGPilot publishes software recommendations that are useful whether or not we make money from them. Everything below follows from that.

Verification

• Pricing is taken from the vendor's published rates and dated. If we cannot verify a price, we show no price rather than an estimate.
• Feature claims are checked against the vendor's own documentation or hands-on use.
• Product records carry a last-reviewed date. Stale records are re-checked or unpublished.
• We do not republish vendor marketing copy as if it were our assessment.

What we will never publish

• Fabricated reviews, testimonials, star ratings, or user counts.
• Invented pricing, discounts, or commission terms.
• Fake "trusted by" logos or implied partnerships that do not exist.
• Thin pages generated purely to rank in search.
• Comparisons written to steer traffic toward the higher-paying product.

Comparisons

Head-to-head comparisons reach contextual conclusions — "better for a small team on a tight budget" — rather than declaring universal winners. Most software questions have a "depends on your situation" answer, and pretending otherwise is how people end up with the wrong tool.

Corrections

We fix errors. If something on this site is wrong, tell usand we will correct it and update the page's last-reviewed date. Substantive corrections to a published recommendation are noted on the page.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate and partner relationships are disclosed wherever they exist and are described in full in our affiliate disclosure. Their effect on rankings is quantified in How We Rank.

AI and automation

Our recommendation engine is a deterministic scoring model, not a language model guessing at answers. Where we use automation to draft or summarize content, a person reviews it before it is published, and the standards on this page apply identically.
